The “Landeswasserversorgung” – a water-supply company which is rich in tradition and today one of the largest in Germany. Founded in the year 1912, the enterprise began operating its first installations in 1917. Numbered among the current 106 members of the company are cities, communities and other water companies in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
Today the Landeswasserversorgung is the guarantor of a safe and reliable drinking-water supply for over 250 cities and communities, including the cities of Aalen, Ellwangen, Esslingen, Göppingen, Ludwigsburg, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Stuttgart and Ulm, to name but a few. The annual output exceeds 90 Million cubic metres drinking water of the highest quality.
Through a mains system with a total length of about 790 km, the Landeswasserversorgung provides drinking water from the two waterworks in Langenau and Dischingen to its approx. 3 Million customers. The amount supplied can reach 450,000 cubic metres per day, in other words 6,500 litres per second.
Some years ago, the Landeswasserversorgung expanded the number of services offered to its company members to encompass the entire range needed in the drinking-water-sector. In particular, these includes management, engineering and laboratory as well as water-meter services.
